Dear Parent/Guardian,
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you as this is my first year at Kennedy Collegiate Institute. I previously taught in Ottawa and then moved to Windsor a couple years ago. Last year, I taught at Essex High School and it is with excitement that I continue my career this year at Kennedy. I look forward to being your child’s Phys-Ed teacher and through our health and activity programs, it is my goal as a Phys-Ed teacher to have your child active and aware of what it means to lead a healthy lifestyle.
The health of our students is a responsibility that our Health and Physical Education Department does not take lightly. Research shows that taking part in daily physical activity leads to greater academic achievement, health and wellness, self-esteem, and a more positive attitude toward life. These benefits make participating in Phys-Ed class an extremely rewarding experience for your child.
The best way for our students to reach their full potential is for us to work together. In doing this, I ask that you carefully read through the course information sheets distributed to your child today and check the course website regularly as it will indicate upcoming activities and evaluations within your daughter’s Phys-Ed class. For your convenience, the course information sheets can also be found on the course website at www.mskuchma.weebly.com. In particular, please review the sections on uniforms, daily participation, and being excused from physical education. Secondly, please return the attached page complete with your contact information so that I can easily contact you to update you on any achievements and/or concerns I have regarding your daughter’s progress in the course.
If you have any concerns with the Phys-Ed program or any of the classroom expectations, please do not hesitate to contact me at 519-254-6475 or by email at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Ms. Kuchma
